Stop Cap & Trade before it stops you

In a surprise move, Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats have called for a floor vote on the dangerous, anti-growth “cap and tax” climate bill tomorrow.

As you’ve probably heard, this is one big, ugly proposal. It would require businesses to obtain government-issued ration coupons before they could emit greenhouse gases. If they emit above the level of their credits, they get taxed and pass the massive costs along to consumers.

It would create numerous regulations and spending programs and result in higher energy prices, gas prices, food prices, and unemployment. In our key vote alert to all House members, we cited a Heritage Foundation report that said the direct and indirect taxes created by this bill would approach almost $3,000 a year for a family of four. And real GDP losses would equal more than $9 trillion.

Please call your representative today and urge them to vote NO on the Waxman-Markey energy tax bill. You can reach them by dialing the Capitol Hill switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and asking for your representative. If you have time, please consider calling these House members as well (especially if they are in your state). They are Republicans believed to be undecided and facing intense pressure from environmental activists to support the bill.

Common Sense use it or lose it

These are troubling times.  Times of confusion.  The media distracts, distorts and confuses the common sense of good people.  Liberals twist words and ideas to make them more digestible to the common senses of  people who otherwise would reject outright the policies and injustices they seek to impose.

Common sense would tell you that the government should not be given too much power over the people.  That power corrupts.  That power invades and has no limits of wanting more. No checks and balances.  No incentive to do the right thing for you.  All the while telling you how much they care, how much they want to help you.  How good they are and how bad business is.  Government just wants to take care of you, protect you from the bad business.  Protect you from the bad doctors and bad insurance companies and the really bad rich people who run businesses.

As Americans we take Freedom for granted.  We have had it for so long, we  assume it will always be there.    We as the people of a Free country must always be alert and aware of those wishing to take it away.  Not only  by one big threat or war.  But by those who wish to take it one piece at a time.  One precious right after another until we wake up one day and it’s too late.

Too late to speak, because free speach is gone.  Too late to change laws because the power to change laws has been given to corrupt power.  Too late to choose because you gave that right away to the Government who chooses for you. Chooses your doctor.  Chooses what your child learns in school, chooses what food is good for you, chooses what you watch on t.v., chooses who you hire, how much to pay them, what kind of car you can drive, where your taxes go (in the pockets of their entities).

Do not be distracted by fancy words and smooth talking politicians.  Believe in yourself and the constitution that has carried this country far and above the socialist model.  Defend your rights and your freedoms.  Speak up.  Write. Get involved.    Hold your elected officials accountable. For Gods Sake keep your common sense clear.  Keep your values close and listen to that voice inside you when you know something just isn’t right.
